Election Integrity is the most incredibly powerful issue because it brings together people from all walks of life that would normally never agree, let alone even consider eating lunch together.  Texas is a bastion for the rule of law and a strong-hold for legal accountability.  Fortunately for Texans, our election statutes originate in our state Constitution Article 6, Section 4:

“In all elections by the people, the vote shall be by ballot, and the Legislature shall

provide for the numbering of tickets and make such other regulations as may be

necessary to detect and punish fraud and preserve the purity of the ballot box…”

King Fights Obamacare

**********************************************

Austin – Last week State Representative Phil King (R-Weatherford) joint authored House Joint Resolution (HJR) 51 to protect Texans from the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare.  A federal district court has recognized serious issues with the health care law, and further stated that all states have the right to challenge the health care law.

“When Congress and the Obama Administration passed Obamacare, they essentially threw our Constitution out of the window,” King stated, “Enacting this legislation was a clear and brazen violation of the Constitution and I’m proud to sign on to legislation that will work to counter it and protect Texans from this most intrusive act of the federal government.”

HJR 51 will help buttress Attorney General Greg Abbott’s lawsuit against the federal government and be one more tool for Texans in their fight against Obamacare.  If passed, HJR 51 will then go to the voters of Texas for approval in the November 2011 general election to amend the Texas Constitution and help prevent Texans from having to purchase government-approved health insurance under the threat of penalty.

Unconstitutional “government programs”

There is a rally planned for January 16th to call on the governor to call a special session of the Texas State Legislature to interpose on behalf of all Texans and nullify every UNCONSTITUTIONAL Law, Resolution, Amendment, etc. and to UPHOLD our own TEXAS CONSTITUTION!!

2009 Constitutional Election – don’t forget to vote!

We encourage all Texans to participate in the constitutional election of November 3. Early voting began today, with 11 propositions for voters to consider.

The propositions cover a range of issues, including curbing eminent domain abuse and controlling Texas’ property tax appraisal system. Other propositions fix errors that have crept into the constitution, allow for new debt, or provide the legislature with the authority to spend money.

Did you know you can fill out a “sample ballot” and take it with you when you go to vote.  Just make sure you take it with you when you depart your poll site.
