By asking pesky questions about possible corruption and influence peddling at the state’s flagship public university, a UT regent is being threatened with impeachment by senior legislators. This is a clear abuse of power by the legislative appointees of House Speaker Joe Straus and Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst.
I would like to share with you this article about a recent poll that shows that Texans overwhelmingly support legislators that are willing to do the right thing by cutting spending rather than raising taxes to meet our current budget shortfall. Please join me in encouraging all publicly elected officials to hold the line during this difficult economic time and cut spending to help families and businesses in Texas. It is a pleasure to serve you in the Texas Legislature.
