A Duck Dynasty Christmas

From OneNewsNow.com, Star Parker, 12/23/13 –
There was a time when religious freedom meant tolerance and living your life how you want. Today, however, it means open legitimization of whatever the Bible condemns and condemnation of any public statement of Christian conviction.

Phil Robertson, star of A&E hit reality show Duck Dynasty, has been suspended from the show because of “anti-gay” remarks he made in an interview with GQ Magazine.

Explaining Robertson’s suspension, A&E indicated that “A&E Networks…have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community.”

But, as far as I read the interview with Robertson, he wasn’t responding to a question about homosexuality. He was responding to a question about sin.

Cue Faux “Christian” Handwringing

No Christian Should Apologize for Phil Robertson or What He Said

Phil Robertson

Phil Robertson

From RedState.com, By: kipling (Diary)  12/19/13 – We are just into the first full day of the A&E / Duck Commander controversy and already weak-kneed “Christian leaders” are lining up to apologize for Phil Robertson and what he said.  These perfectly manicured, soft-spoken, self-appointed Christian spokesmen – often with hair that can withstand gale force winds – are only too happy to jump in front of a camera or on the radio waves to soften the plainspoken Word of God.  These well-groomed and often academically titled men almost seem offended that a mere rustic – more resembling of John the Baptist or an Old Testament prophet than the hipster pastors and bloggers of today – would dare to boldly proclaim the Word of God to the liberal media complex.  Thus, instead of supporting Mr. Robertson and boldly proclaiming the Word of God, they scuttle about and curry favor with the press by attacking the messenger, the message, or both.  It is worth taking a look at some of their arguments because we need more boldness, not less.

Dear A&E,

I read that you are indefinitely suspending Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty after he quoted the Bible and said that the homosexual act is sinful. I get it, guys. I do. You punished the Christian guy for being a Christian because you got some angry emails from a bunch of whiny gay activists who lack the spine and maturity to deal with the fact that there are still people out there who have the guts to articulate opinions that they find disagreeable. In so doing, you’ve kowtowed to a pushy minority of vocal bullies who don’t even watch your channel, while alienating the fan base of the one show that keeps your entire network afloat.

5 Reasons America Needs Duck Dynasty

From TruthMatters.com, by Eric Douglas, 11/13/2012 –

Let me say it loud and clear: America needs Duck Dynasty.  It may be among the most important shows on television.

To some, Duck Dynasty may only seem like a silly reality show.  Its 30 minutes of bearded men making duck calls, drinking sweet tea, hunting and blowing stuff up.  But that’s just what you see on the surface.  If you look more closely, what you will discover is that Duck Dynasty is a biblical show.
