Jeffress: My presence, prayer not an endorsement

A well-known Southern Baptist pastor isn’t backing down after taking some heat for appearing on the campaign trail with Donald Trump.
OneNewsNow spoke with Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist-Dallas, after the Iowa caucuses and asked him about appearing with Trump at two in-state Christian colleges. Speaking at Dordt College on January 23, the pastor said: “Although as a pastor I cannot officially endorse a candidate, I would not be here this morning if I were not absolutely convinced that Donald Trump would make a great president of the United States.”
Jeffress is doubling down on that remark. “I don’t regret one thing I’ve done at all,” he tells OneNewsNow, “but I am not a part of the Trump campaign or any campaign.”
