Parker County Commissioner’s Court met for a special session Monday morning.
During that session, the court heard a review of the county judge’s 2016-17 proposed budget, which is a net decrease of $83,455 in total property tax revenue collected compared to the 2015-16 adopted budget.

They heard a report from Freese and Nichols on transportation needs and funding options and approved the purchase of additional bandwidth from Nextlink.
Commissioners Court approved assumption and consent agreement pertaining to a construction letter of credit for El Dorado Subdivision located in Precinct 3 and approved bill payment to McMahon Construction.
A public notice also went out on Monday about the 2016 property tax rates for Parker County. It presented information about three tax rates. The reports stated that last year’s tax rate is the actual rate the taxing unit used to determine property taxes last year.
This year’s effective tax rate would impose the same taxes as last year if compared properties taxes in both years. The report also stated that this year’s rollback tax rate is the highest rate the taxing unit can set before taxpayers can start tax rollback procedures.
