Justice Department Documents Reveal the Widespread Use of Fast and Furious Weapons by Major Mexican Drug Cartels – Linked to at Least 69 Killings

Judicial Watch-1

From Judicial Watch (May 20th update) by Tom Fitton –

We are still uncovering grisly details of the Obama administration’s deadly Operation Fast and Furious gunrunning program.  Just this week, we revealed that

from December 2012 to March 2016, 94 Fast and Furious weapons were picked up at various crime scenes.

We released Justice Department documents  showing that weapons sent from the U.S. into Mexico have been widely used by major drug cartels.  Over the past three years, a total of 94 Fast and Furious firearms have been recovered in Mexico City and 12 Mexican states, with the majority being seized in Sonora, Chihuahua and Sinaloa.  Of the weapons recovered, 82 were rifles and 12 were pistols identified as having been part of the Fast and Furious program.  Reports suggest these particular Fast and Furious guns are tied to at least 69 killings.

Fast and Furious was a Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) “gunrunning” operation  in which the Obama administration allowed guns to be sold to Mexican drug cartels in the hope the weapons would be recovered at crime scenes.  Fast and Furious weapons have been implicated in the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and hundreds of other innocents in Mexico.  Prior reports tie Fast and Furious weapons to at least 200 deaths in Mexico alone.

We obtained the documents last month in response to a March 17, 2016, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives seeking the following:

  • All records identifying the locations (including, but not limited to, crime scenes and the locations of seizures) at which firearms – that were identified during the course of or due to Operation Fast and Furious – have been recovered by law enforcement personnel.

The documents show that of the 94 Fast and Furious firearms seized 20 were identified as being involved in “violent recoveries.”  The “violent recoveries” involved several mass killings:

  • June 30, 2014 — One 7.62mm rifle recovered in Tlatlaya, Estado de Mexico.  This is the reported date and location of a shootout in which 22 people were killed.
  • May 22, 2015 — Two 7.62mm rifles were recovered from the site of a massive shootout in Rancho el Sol, Michoacán, that left one Mexican Federal Police officer and 42 suspected cartel members dead.
  • August 7, 2015 — One 7.62mm rifle was among five firearms reported as recovered from an abandoned stolen vehicle in which three dead shooting victims were found in Parral, Chihuahua.
  • January 29, 2013 — One 7.62mm rifle seized in Hostotipaquillo, Jalisco, is reportedly related to the assassination of the town police chief, Luis Lucio Astorga and his bodyguard.
  • January 11, 2016 — One .50 caliber rifle was seized from Joaquin “Chapo” Guzman’s hideout in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, where he was (re)arrested.
  • In October 2014, Judicial Watch uncovered the fact that an AK 47 rifle used in a July 29, 2013, gang-style assault on an apartment building that left two people wounded was part of the gunrunning program.

As the production of documents from the ATF continues, we expect to see even further confirmation of Obama’s disgraced former Attorney General Eric Holder’s prediction that Fast and Furious guns will be used in crimes for years to come.

In the meantime, these documents show that President Obama’s legacy includes gunrunning, violence and death.

  1. It is ironic that Judicial Watch’s motto is, “Because no one is above the law.” They really should change that to, “Because no one SHOULD BE above the law.”

If not for former CBS News Investigative Journalist Sharyl Attkisson’s dogged pursuit of this story (along with independent journalists David Codrea and Mike Vanderboegh), this story wouldn’t even be known to the average mundane field hand in Amerika. (And kudos to the Parker County Blog for keeping the story alive, at least locally!!)

Of course, the rest of the fully-owned and D.C.-controlled U.S. Lamestream Media has failed to push for justice and accountability, not only for the family of Brian Terry, the U.S. Border Patrol Agent killed with a Fast & Furious AK-47 rifle by a Mexican drug smuggler, but for the families of the 300+ (400+?, 500+?, 600+?) Mexican victims of Fast & Furious weapons used in Mexico by the murderous drug cartels over the past several years.

It has been said that to really enjoy a good movie, it is sometimes necessary to allow “the willful suspension of disbelief”. To believe the Federal Government’s explanation for the Fast & Furious treason by the U.S. Federal Government, up to and possibly including the illegal alien squatting in the White House, it is necessary to utilize the same principle of “willful suspension of disbelief”. For the older readers, think “Twilight Zone” episodes…on steroids.

The Fed.Guv’s pathological lies about Fast & Furious…er, “explanations”…were that the BATFE (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives) allowed, encouraged, and/or failed to stop…”straw purchases” (buyers who are not the intended recipients of said weapons) of high-powered, semi-automatic weapons…up to and including .50 caliber sniper rifles…said multiple purchases being made in American retail gun stores…in order to allow these illegally-purchased guns…about 3,000+ weapons…to cross the U.S.-Mexico border to the drug cartels so that the BATFE could allegedly track said weapons to the drug cartels.

There was only one problem with the Fed.Guv’s explanation…they never tracked a single illegally-purchased weapon after it crossed the U.S. southern border into Mexico. Read that last sentence again…and again.

“Mere incompetence” would be that the BATFE / U.S. Justice Dept. failed to track “one-half”, “one-third”, “one-fourth” of the illegally purchased weapons that went into Mexico. The fact that NONE of the weapons were tracked after they crossed the border is prima facie evidence of a pathological lie by the Fed.Guv.

It is obvious that the true intent of Fast & Furious was to allow these 3,000+ illegally-purchased weapons to cross over into Mexico, be used in hundreds or thousands of murders, have the Mexican Government report these “American-made weapons” found at their crime scenes as having been “legally purchased” in U.S. gun stores, then said lies used as anti-gun propaganda by the vehemently anti-gun Kenyan/Indonesian occupying the White House as stage props to implement draconian gun control laws to take away the “natural right” of self-defense merely codified in the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

This is “Treason”…pure and simple. It is the socialist/communist philosophy of the “Hegelian Dialectic” in action…compliments of The Great Leader at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. and his co-conspirator henchmen.

Yet, not one person has taken the “perp walk” for the commission of thousands of serious felonies committed by the U.S. Federal Government during the Fast & Furious crime wave.

Try buying an AK-47 rifle at a gun store in Texas, walk up to a U.S. port of entry at the Mexican border with said AK-47, and explain to the Border Patrol personnel manning the checkpoint that you are there to meet a representative of the Sinaloa drug cartel to sell him said AK-47 rifle. See what happens. One weapon. See what happens. But, get your personal affairs in order first.

As Steven Seagal famously said in the movie, “Above the Law”: “When the police and the government don’t obey the law, there is no law.”

Case in point – See if Hitlery Klinton ever spends one day behind bars for her obvious and blatant email treason. The Russian government reportedly has over 20,000 of her emails that she wrote while she was U.S. Secretary of State. What else does the U.S. DoJ need? Oh…a nod of approval from the Illegal-Alien-in-Chief. Gotcha.

“But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime.”
