Wallbuilders Founder David Barton has authored a letter expressing his support for a Convention of States. Alongside his co-host on Wallbuilders Live Rick Green, Barton says he has spent years researching a Convention of States and is urging Americans to support this legislative effort to limit the scope of the federal government.
Fellow Patriots,
It is exciting to see such a renewed interest in basic constitutional principles. Liberty lovers across America are studying their past in order to find ways to stop our federal government’s explosive growth and sprint towards socialism.
Fortunately, our Founding Fathers, with their thorough understanding of human nature, created constitutional means to restrain the federal government when it exceeded its jurisdiction. One specific means was the Constitution’s Article V amendment process by means of a Convention of the States. This is a proper solution.

We have not come to this conclusion lightly. Like many of our conservative friends, we initially avoided this constitutionally-specified process due to a fear of what might occur, or what could happen. But after years of research and studying the Founders’ original intent for this amendment process — and after years of witnessing an unconstitutional reshaping of our federal government — we are both confident that this is the correct course of action.
The Federalist Papers declare that the Constitution specifically furnishes each part of government “with constitutional arms” for its own “effectual powers of self-defense.” One such arm of self-defense that the Constitution gives to the states is an Article V Convention of States. For states to refuse to use this tool would be like going into a street fight, but refusing to use one of your biggest and most effective weapons. And it is illogical to consider the use of any constitutional provision as a threat to the Constitution. It makes as much sense as violating the free-market system to save it, or breaking health care to fix it.
We urge you to support all of the Constitution, and thus the efforts of the Convention of States to pass their extremely well-thought-out and strategic legislation in your home state and join us in a call to restore our constitutional republic.
God Bless,
David Barton Founder and President, WallBuilders

I beg to differ.
I suggest you type the following in to a search engine –
” danger convention of states ”
Maybe folks need to research for themselves instead of taking the word of some ” christian conservative Repug “
The arguments that support an Article V Convention are pure propaganda to cover up the conspiracy that’s driving it. The progressive movement intends to change our Constitution to better accommodate their needs.
Constitutional scholar Publius Huldah explained it perfectly in the following article:

You can also read her rebuttal to Mark Levin as well as several other fact-based, and meticulously detailed articles at http://freedomoutpost.com/author/publius-huldah/
The goals of a con-con are definitely NOT to preserve, protect and defend our Constitution, rather they wish to fundamentally change it in defiance of conservatism, capitalism, the Bill of Rights, and for the primary purpose of destroying our free Republic. The following list of endorsing organizations speak loudly to a progressive agenda: https://movetoamend.org/organizations
Brown v Board of Education, 1957 – a Florida House & Senate Interposition Resolution NULLIFIED a Supreme Court Decision that usurped the Constitution. http://www.floridamemory.com/exhibits/floridahighlights/collins/
Common sense is seriously lacking if you think you can fix the problems by adding or changing amendments in a Constitution that is currently being ignored. NULLIFICATION is the only sensible way to correct the problems, and stop the usurpers. The risk of a runaway convention is much too high, especially when our country is at stake.
This statement, in particular, is rather amazing –
“Fortunately, our Founding Fathers, with their thorough understanding of human nature, created constitutional means to restrain the federal government when it exceeded its jurisdiction. ”
I have studied the “parchments” myself, and found them wanting –
Civic Belief #1: The Congress was given few specific powers. All else was left to the States and to the people under the 10th Amendment. Ample checks and balances protect the Republic from federal tyranny.
Civic Belief #2: The Federal Government has become so powerful only because despotic officials have overstepped their strict, constitutional bounds.
If #1 is true, then how did #2 happen?
“The Constitution has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it”. Lysander Spooner, No Treason (1870)
Think about that. By either the Constitution’s purposeful design or by its unintentional weakness, we suffer under a federal colossus which takes a third of our lives and regulates everything from alfalfa to xylophones. This is Freedom? So, why aren’t Americans free?
And guess who would comprise the body of such an Article V convention ? The same current group of collectivists, FAUX conservatives , and political shamans who have IGNORED the Constitution and Bill of Rights for decades.
I consider an Article V convention a waste of time , a distraction , and a chancey danger to what little bit of liberty we have left. Who would be involved – global socialists and toadies such as Bushes, Gingrich, Cornyn, Mccain,Lindey Graham, McConnell, Boehner, Ryan, Romney, Perry , King, Estes etc ?
That should give you a real sense of confidence – the same group who goosesteps right along with the Obama crowd, all effecting bigger and more colossus government at the state AND federal level ? The above group has basically abdicated any genuine opposition to the Marxists, and you expect THEM to fix anything with an Article V convention ?
Wallbuilders is about as irrelevant as Judas Goats Beck & Levin, evidently.
“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. . . We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. . .
Edward C. Bernays, Propaganda, 1928
Very well said, Blutarsky.
