About the Parker County TEA Party –

We are a grassroots group of Americans united to share our common value – that the Constitution of the United States should be the governance of our land.  It should not be re-interpreted or revised in meaning to meet the needs to special interests or political favors.  We’re concerned about reckless overspending, unfair and punitive taxation, and the increasing lack of government constraints. We are peaceful American citizens that organize protests and rallies in Parker County, Texas. We’re not contained by any particular ideology or party, but strive to be a pluralistic and populist movement committed to Liberty, especially economic liberty.

  1. Light rail better not be coming…I can’t afford to subsidize it for the people who use it.

      Amen, Rick………….I smell another boondoggle

“When more of the people’s sustenance is exacted through the form of taxation than
is necessary to meet the just obligations of government and expenses of its economical
administration, such exaction becomes ruthless extortion and a violation of the
fundamental principles of a free government.”
      – Grover Cleveland

“The same prudence which in private life would forbid our paying our own money for unexplained projects,
forbids it in the dispensation of the public moneys.” –Thomas Jefferson

  2. Judge Riley and his NCTCOG cronies who are very pro-UN Agenda 21, believe that light rail is the best thing since sliced bread. Every study I have read on light rail has shown that they are an economic disaster and there is not one instance where they pay for their own operating costs, much less the cost of building them.
As far as I can ascertain, it is a way of moving people into compacted housing and small “village” type settings where you live above the shop where you work, ala, a European community. If you prefer to live like this, move to Europe, or our East coast and knock yourself out. Do not expect me to have to subsidize that way of life for you. With taxes, fuel, food, and housing for my wife and I, we are streched to the limit already, and a tax increase will just be another stone in the heavy basket we already carry.
It is quite evident to many of us that our current county government doesn’t care how hard they make your life, as long as their pet projects get built with your dime.
