Wendy Davis condemns politicians using abortion ‘to boost their own political aspirations’

Did Wendy Davis condemn herself with her own words?

I believe Wendy Davis should have said, “I am using this issue to boost my own political aspirations, my own political ambitions…”

wendy-davis-1From The Daily Caller, by Jeff Poor, 063013 – Democratic Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis landed in the national spotlight  after she waged a 13-hour filibuster last Tuesday to block legislation that  would have restricted late-term abortions.

The 50-year-old legislator from Ft. Worth, Texas appeared on three network  Sunday public affairs programs — ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,”  NBC’s “Meet the Press” and CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

Despite having gained national prominence thanks to the abortion debate,  Davis lashed out on “Face the Nation” at politicians who use the issue to  elevate their own political ambitions.

“You know, I think really what’s happening here, Bob, is politicians are  using this issue to boost their own political aspirations, their own political  aspirations, their own political ambitions… Thousands and thousands of women,  will no longer have access to this safe reproductive health care. And we all  know what happens in the context of the lack of that access. We’ve seen it  before in our country’s history and I fear that for their political ambitions  Gov. [Rick] Perry and Lt. Gov. [David] Dewhurst are willing to cast that aside,  put women in harm’s way, in order for them to step up on the political  ladder.

  1. And what she is doing isn’t pure political postering???? What hypocritical idiot this woman is! Tarrant County this is the kind of representation you elect? Pure and simple she is for killing unborn babies end of subject. Governor Perry is against killing unborn babies and that is the simple fact!
