Philip Newkirk for WISD School Board of Trustee’s Place 3

Vote NO for the WISD BOND * We are Taxed Enough Already!

Newkirk-1My name is Philip Newkirk, I am a Christian, Conservative, and Concerned Citizen… I am NOT in favor of the proposed WISD Bond and NOT in favor of the CSCOPE Curriculum that is being used in our schools. Therefore, I am NOT in favor of a school board that would vote unanimously to back either. As a result, I am happy to officially announce my candidacy for WISD School Board of Trustee’s Place 3.

THE BOND: $107, 320, 00.00 Million
Why increase debt when public school debt is rising faster than tax revenue? Any logical person would sense a spending problem immediately. http://www.texastransparency.org/yourmoney/pdf/TexasItsYourMoney-EducationDebt.pdf ;
Why ALL or NOTHING?

If this passes, WISD will have the highest tax rate in Parker County.
Allow the tax payers of Weatherford to decide which needs are necessary, don’t lump all into one!
Technology changes…that’s precisely why you don’t put it on a credit card, with interest. You budget for it, you don’t BOND it.
Let’s downsize this Bond and revisit it…when the time comes, when Weatherford is in a real capacity emergency, not now!

THE SCHOOL DISTRICT:
Safety is important but cameras don’t stop evil, they just record it. We must find a reasonable alternative to protect children while receiving their education.
Why are we using the VERY expensive and VERY controversial “CSCOPE” teaching aid?
“CSCOPE” handcuffs the faculty and unless they choose to disregard it. It limits their ability to think freely and implement academic freedom.
Out of 31 Western Metroplex School Districts, Weatherford starting teacher salaries rank 26th (www.UEAtexas.com).
For those dedicated enough to stay within WISD, and teach for 30 years…we reward them with the LOWEST annual commensurate salary in the entire metroplex!!! (www.UEAtexas.com).
What are our real needs for WISD? Teachers that feel they are being compensated for their hard work and dedication or over the top wants that are not necessary for the things that matter at a school…..Education!

Philip Newkirk’s PLEA:
WE NEED REVIVAL, we have got to put God back into our lives, our homes, our churches, our SCHOOLS, and our curriculum! Bonds are for emergencies, and in a couple years we may be faced with REAL capacity issues and may need to ask for another building or even more? Wrong time, wrong way, let’s rethink and restructure our priorities.

***Please Vote: Sat. May 11th 7am – 7pm @ Courthouse Annex***

About The Parker County TEA Party – The TEA Party Patriots of Parker County
We are a grassroots group of Americans united to share our common value – that the Constitution of the United States should be the governance of our land. It should not be re-interpreted or revised in meaning to meet the needs to special interests or political favors. We’re concerned about reckless overspending, unfair and punitive taxation, and the increasing lack of government constraints. We are peaceful American citizens that organize protests and rallies in Parker County, Texas. We’re not contained by any particular ideology or party, but strive to be a pluralistic and populist movement committed to Liberty, especially economic liberty.

Mr Newkirk & Dr Barbay received the (early) votes in this household, along with an emphatic NO on the Bond scam
