an email alert from Devvy Kidd-

If you live in Texas or know someone who does, please network for an important vote on Monday, January 14, 2013. I have confirmed by a call to the state capitol this vote will take place Monday. Thank you to the patriot who alerted me:

Calling all Texans.Urgent call to action.

“Urge your state representative to support this new rule change in the state legislature! Keep reading… then follow the very simple steps to make your voice HEARD!! The vote is MONDAY, Jan 14th!!

“There is a new proposal by Rep. Van Taylor to amend the House Rules as follows:

“a. No Committee Chairmen could serve on the Calendars Committee. The Calendars Committee basically controls what legislation is brought up for a ‘floor vote;’ and

“b. If a measure has 76 or more co-authors, the Calendars Committee must submit it to the House Floor for an up or down vote within 7 to 10 days. (By the way a similar provision is in place in the U. S. House of Representatives. It is called a ‘bill of petition.’)

“Corruption under the existing rules during the last session caused several liberty-minded bills that had broad popular support to never see the ‘light of day.’ Although the Anti-TSA Groping Bill did finally reach the House Floor towards the end of the 82nd General Session, it’s pace, to say the least, was ‘leisurely.’

“These MUCH-NEEDED reforms of the House Rules will be voted on Monday, January 14 on the floor of the House. Let’s immediately contact our local Texas House lawmakers and insist that they vote for these changes. This will ‘decentralize’ the powers that currently reside exclusively with the House Speaker and that will ‘serve as a wall’ against future corruption of the legislative process.

“If we want to see ‘liberty-minded’ legislation make it to the floor of the Texas House of Representatives, e.g. Nullification of ObamaCare, anti-sanctuary cities legislation, interposition against the TSA groping, etc., for this session, then we must swing into action now!”

    The bill is H.R. 4:

A little back story. Our state legislature only meets for 140 days. The last session ended in early May 2011; the new 2013 session is just now starting. When the critters go out of session, our legislature doesn’t come back until January 2015 (like Montana, N. Dakota and Nevada). Time is critical. In the 2011 session, an arrogant, corrupt RINO, Joe Straus, was elected as Speaker of the House. It was disastrous. That little tyrant was just reelected this past Tuesday. Makes me sick so many Republicans voted to reelect that turn coat.

Newly reelected Speaker of the Texas State Legislature, Joe Straus, thinks grassroots activists and tea party folks are “mother f*ckers”. Those words come from emails I’m sure Straus wishes never existed. You can read about them here:

One other thing I want to mention that burns me up to no end. In our primary last year, I voted for my state rep, incumbent, Jim Landtroop. He allegedly lost a run off. Now, I find out I have a new representative because of redistricting – redistricting based on the mess called the 2010 census which counted illegal aliens. Texas is infested with them.

So, a Drew Darby is my state rep, but I didn’t vote for him because we the people of this district were never given a chance to vote for him. We just got sucked up in redistricting. I was never given a choice for representation in the Texas State Legislature. The damn political games are toxic in Texas, just like the Outlaw Congress.

Texans: Mark your calendar and call your state rep first thing Monday morning. No emails. Call. How to find your state rep: http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/

A reminder: If you haven’t signed up for alerts from your state capitol, I urge you to do so. You pick which committees you wish to be notified about and you will get email for bills in those committees. Very important if we are to kill bad bills and try to get good ones passed.

My Dreamweaver program has decided to cause me problems. Items posted below on my web site, http://www.devvy.com/, will stay up until sometime over the weekend, then I’ll post some new ones everyone should read.
