Michael Williams Endorses Lynette McCracken for Precinct Chair, Pct 400

January 27, 2012

Hard-working, energetic grassroots leaders who have a consistent conservative compass, the courage to make the right decision, even when it’s hard, and who are so personally grounded by their faith so as to not be seduced by the appearances and trappings of power are the soul of our party.  Lynette meets this test in spades.  With great enthusiasm I wish her well and lend her my support in her campaign.  The folks of Parker County precinct 400 will be well served by her leadership.

Russell appeal continues

January 10, 2012

Clara and Johnnie Russell won a hearing Thursday necessary to continue their appeal of a $7,200 judgement in Justice of the Peace Court for refusing to take down a Wake Up America sign.

From the Weatherford Democrat, by Christin Coyne (CNHI), January 10, 2012 -

PARKER COUNTY — A small sign posted near the roadway at the end of a cul-de-sac in Remuda Ranch Estates has garnered plenty of attention in national and local media after the homeowners refused to remove the sign and were given a $7,200 fine in a Justice of the Peace decision.

The lawsuit was kept alive Thursday when an appeal regarding a denial of the couple’s affidavit of inability to pay for an appeal was granted in County Court at Law No. 2, allowing Clara and Johnnie Russell to continue fighting the judgement against them.

Neighbors pitted against neighbors in subdivision fight

January 9, 2012

This sign in Remuda Estates touched off the latest in a long battle that has pit neighbors against each other in the development.

From the Weatherford Democrat, by Christin Coyne (CNHI), January 9, 2012 -

PARKER COUNTY — Located in far east Parker County off of White Settlement Road, Remuda Ranch Estates is where rural Parker County allows residents to escape the Fort Worth area.

Driving through the sprawling, hilly neighborhood, established around the mid-1970s, it appears quiet and well-kept.

Several of the neighbors waved as they passed each other on the winding roads Thursday afternoon. (Click here to view this complete article.)

Answers to some common questions about the Supreme Court’s ruling

December 10, 2011

From txredistricting.org, December 10, 2011 -

What does the Supreme Court’s order do?

In the simplest of terms, two things.

First, the order halted further use of the court-drawn interim state house, state senate, and congressional maps, at least for now.

This means that until further notice, candidates are not able to file to run for those offices.

Second, the Supreme Court set an exceptionally expedited briefing schedule in the state’s appeals with briefs from both sides due on December 21, reply briefs on January 3, and oral argument set for January 9. Read the rest of this entry »
