The most common theory is that these Republicans are in tight races in swing districts. They have to sometimes cross the aisle. They have to sometimes vote like squishes just to stay elected.
The Madison Project this morning is completely blowing up that common and oft repeated theory.
Today the Madison Project introduced its Hall of Shame.
What they did was pretty simple. They took the Cook measure of the partisan of a district, stacked it with the voting records of members of Congress, and found a startling list of Republican congressmen from solidly Republican and conservative areas who don’t really vote like conservatives.
You will not be surprised to learn that Don Young (RINO-AK) is the worst offender of the bunch.
What’s really surprising is how people like Frank Lucas of Oklahoma and Michael Simpson of Idaho are on the list. Their districts are R+24 and R+17 respectively.
For the tea party, the Madison Project just handed you a list of people to absolutely beat in primaries without having to deal with the “but . . . but . . . you’ll hand the seat to a Democrat” line so many want to hurl.
This is some of the most useful data to come out this political season. About the only draw back is that most of the primaries are over. We’ll need to hold on to this data for 2014.
No surprise, but Kay Granger made the list. She has been nothing but an RNC – RINO – NeoCON rubberstamp vote since the day she set foot in DC. Same for Hutchinson, Cornyn, Perry etc
But to a lot of the ” meet-eat-retreat” coffee-klatch mainstream Repubs in Parker County, she is probably great. Many, if not most of that ilk seem more concerned about “decorum” at the convention. They were offended that Many many conventioneers upstaged Rick Perry,who, in an improper moment made an endorsement of CIA frontman Dewhurst, and got loudly booed. Perry should have been booed all the way back to his pappys ranch in West Texas,….for good.
Or that Ron Paul supporters seemed “angry” and practiced “guerilla politics” at local and state convention levels. It is quite refreshing to see some energy, concern and activism. Damn right they are “angry” and they should be!
Hey, coffee-klatch Repubs – YOUR techniques, YOUR mindless endorsements of cookie-cutter flacid candidates ,YOUR over concern with protocol (and your ideas of “manners”) just might be why this nation is about to go under .
You are not ” Republicans ” – you are moderate-to-liberal Democrats. Any real Republicans would have not allowed their partys’ standard-bearers to bankrupt this government, enact horrific Constitution-crushing “Patriot Acts(s)”, give bankster bailouts, allow WIDE OPEN BORDERS and overrun our social services, endorse every OFF SHORE manufacturing maneuver to destroy our job base, LIE this nation in to dangerous foreign wars costing thousands of American lives ( and untold limbs and minds), hire East German Stasi Chief Markus Wolf to set up DHS, setup TSA goon squads at every airport , greatly expand warrantless searches and seizures, and pack a SCOTUS that gave us the Citizens United ruling and Kelo which redefined Eminent Domain ( and not for the good).
Nice job, country-club Repubs ! While you sat in silence at the abuses of your “Republicans” from 2001-2009, you have mustered up a countryclub socialist for President – one who supports stringent gun control, setup the precursor to Obama healthcare with his Romney care, supports more aggressive foreign intervention, is widely supported by the same Wall Street bankster crowd of trillion dollar financial crimes, and endorses the NDAA secret arrests and detentions.
If Mittens platform were presented to the RNC of Goldwater in 1964, they would have said ” Do we have a communist Democrat seeking office? ” yes, gentle readers, the mainstream “Republican” party leaders of this century would have been branded marxists-communists, ultra-leftists a generation ago. Some “patriots” you are, and sad to say – the greatest enemy of this nation is NOT, repeat, is NOT – the ACORN people……….or the OWS bunch……….or the open marxists in the current administration…….or the Bill Ayers-Jermeiah Wrights-George Soros America haters……..
The greatest enemy is – the country club Republicans…………the mainstream RINOs…….the empty-shell of citizens who just blindly endorse, blindly obey, and blindly contribute to liars and hucketrs and enemies of all that WAS good and true about our Republic. YOU are the enemy of freedom, not the scraggly, screaming, radical, weirdo crowd. What irony – the “(c)hristan-conservative” RINO mainstream Repubs, are the greatest danger to personal liberty, freedom ,propserity – fathom the hypocrisy !
