Is there a plausible explanation as to why so many people believe the charade about the ‘huge deficit’ Obama inherited from Bush?
Certainly there is nothing new here, but I believe it should be repeated until everyone recognizes the ‘shell game’ perpetuated by Obama and the Democrats in the House and Senate.
Do budgets come from Congress or the White House? The answer to that question is quite obvious. Since budgets are prepared by Congress, doesn’t it make sense to determine who held the majority in Congress during the period in which the massive deficit spending occurred?
Fact – The Democrat Party held the majority in Congress and controlled the budget process in fiscal years 2008 and 2009 as well as in fiscal years 2010 and 2011.
In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush. They were forced to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.
In FY 2009 however, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush completely by passing continuing resolutions to keep the government running until Obama took office. The Democrats in the House and Senate passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete FY 2009.
And where was Obama during that time? He was a member of the Congress that passed all of those massive spending bills – then as President, he signed the huge omnibus bill to complete FY 2009.
Do you know what the deficits actually looked like during that period? The only deficit inherited by Democrats was the FY 2007 deficit – the last budget prepared by a Republican controlled Congress. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. Then the big spending Democrats, including Barak Hussein Obama took control of Congress. That’s right, Obama voted for the deficit spending he now complains about!
If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself and his fellow Democrats. The truth is Obama voted for the deficit he inherited, then expanded that deficit four-fold since he took office”.
So, what does this say about the pool of potential voters who still believe Obama’s hype about inherited deficit spending? The answer to this question most likely depends on your expectation of the U.S. Government.
Are you a producer or a consumer?
There are those who spend their entire lives working, building businesses and paying taxes. Unfortunately, there is an ever increasing number of ‘consumers’ who stand in line waiting for the “gov’ment” to give to them the fruit that someone else produced. Does that not sound like Robin Hood; robbing from one and giving to another? The simple truth is – Robin Hood was a thief!
Question: Just how much of your neighbor’s hard earned produce do you think you are entitled to consume?
If you are a producer, you are no doubt sickened by the blatant hostility toward the business sector and private wealth.
If, on the other hand, you are a consumer of goods and services you did not earn, chances are you expect to benefit from the massive re-distribution of wealth that Barak ‘Robin Hood’ Obama is attempting to inflict on the nation! You will buy into his shell game completely and follow him blindly over the financial cliff that is rapidly approaching.
