To those who have cared enough about our future, to engage in the on-going political debate on this blog, we say thank you. With few exceptions, your comments have been respectful and constructive.
We would do well to remind ourselves that the opinions of those with whom we disagree are just as valid to them as our opinions are to us.
Many patriots believed so strongly in their opinions during the Civil War that thousands on both sides fought and died defending their beliefs.
I often think of Germany leading up to WWII when Hitler, a relatively unknown personality came on the scene and convinced the citizens of Germany that he had a better idea for their future as a people and as a nation.
Seems like every election cycle many at all levels are drawn in by some smooth talking charismatic individual who knows and says precisely what we want to hear.
I respectfully suggest that when you hear their rhetoric, examine that person’s verifiable proven record of success or failure. Would you hire someone based strictly on what he says about himself?
If I find it easier to vilify the opposition than to defend my candidate, the opposition may not be the problem – the real problem may be that I have not adequately vetted my own candidate.
