Fast forward to 2009, President Barack Obama is giving a speech to elementary school children next week, supposedly about encouraging them to stay in school. After hearing the speech, teachers have been encouraged to have their students “write letters to themselves about what they can do to help the president.”
How far have we fallen from a President encouraging us to service to our country and each other, to a President who is asking our school children to contemplate how they can help HIM!? My how times have changed.
