I agree. This was a tragic mistake and some people are comparing him to a kidnapper/murderer who kills someone on purpose.

Although I agree he should serve some time, I do not think it’s right people are trying so hard to KEEP him in jail for 20 yrs.

Rapists get out quicker than that.

Sharil, I appreciate your comments. Having visited with Rickey, I can say that he does express remorse and responsibility. He did not give Angie Hepatitis and does not have that disease himself. I don’t know where ‘tlp’ gets his information but everything that I have read so far has been inaccurate. It is a travisty that someone can abuse this page with such in accurate statements.

Terry, did you go to the deer lease with Rickey? How do you know what he did there? I was not under the impression that you associated with Rickey and Angie.

You bring up the other faults within the family and we acknowledge that we are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. For everyone’s information, we did have one person in the family that did go to prison for selling drugs, that person served his time and was released without incident. He did not have any medical issues that would cause us to act to get him paroled prior to his release date. The other person that Terry mentions is serving his time as well and will not be paroled for some time to come. When dealing with a family as large as ours, problems must be expected.

As to Rickey’s acceptance for his guilt, that is something that he did long ago. Do you seriously think that he would have accepted his sentence if he did not believe himself guilty? If you do then you don’t know him at all.

To say that we are in denial of our family flaws is a most inaccurate statement sir and I respectfully request that you refrain from doing so especially when you don’t even keep up with your own family.

Terry that is not true. Rickey does not have Hepatitis. His kidney failure is a genentic issue that is shared by many in the family.

Angie died of a ruptured ulcer which caused her to bleed to death internally. This ulcer was caused by the enormous stress that she was placed under by people that were harassing her. She supported her husband throughout this horrible (and I mean that for EVERYONE INVOLVED) ordeal. This information comes from Angie’s parents who obtained it from the medical examiner’s report.

WHEN OR IF YOU ARE ABLE TO SEE THEM, NOW VISUALIZE THEM LAYING ON A DARK ROAD AFTER A 1-TON TRUCK HAS RUN OVER THEM AT 100 MPH ( THE COMBINED SPEED OF THE 2 VEHICLES WITH THE TRUCK GOING 70 MPH ). I’ve changed my mind about Rickey Carter after reading some more of your posts. If he gave Angie Hepatitis, then he killed her too. She was a kind, good woman, and deserved better. I feel so sad for her two boys, and of course the four girls Rickey killed. What a waste, and not a speck of remorse.

YOU FAILED TO MENTION THAT RICKEY CARTER WAS CONSUMING A CASE OF 24 BEERS A DAY EVERY TIME HE WENT ON HIS DEER HUNTING TRIPS FOR AT LEAST 4 YEARS IN THE PAST, AND THEN CONTINUED TO HUNT AFTER HE KILLED THE 4 GIRLS. STILL TO THIS DAY HAS NOT ACEPTED RESPONSIBILITY AND CONFESSED THE TRUTH OR TAKEN ACTIONS TO EXPRESS REMORSE BY ADVOCATING AGAINST D.W.I. TO HELP PREVENT OTHERS FROM MAKING THE SAME MISTAKES.

YOUR SELF RIGHTEOUS INTENTIONS ARE AN INSULT TO THE MEMORIES OF THE 4 TEENAGERS HE KILLED, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING RICKEY IS ONLY 1 OF 3 PERSONS IN YOUR FAMILY THAT HAVE BEEN SENT TO PRISON. 1 DRUG DEALER AND 1 THAT SHOT AND KILLED HIS OWN AUNT THROUGH HER KITCHEN WINDOW.
